Leaving a mark in the blogosphere. Honza Felt takes on PR, marketing and career.

Weekly CyberFootprints February 18 2009

Before we start up this week’s portion of interesting content across the communication and PR blogosphere, I would like to direct your attention to stories of a Chinese blogger Xu Lai and TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington.

What we are getting here is legitimization of bloggers’ power. These seemingly petty incidents show that the blogs are gaining on not only popularity, but also on social influence.  Way to go! I have an appeal to make, though. If you want to disagree with my blogging or actions directly connected to it, leave a comment and we’ll exchange opinions. There is no need for physical assault.

Now, on to a couple of interesting links I have collected in the course of the week.

Copyblogger hosts a good article on black hat SEO practices. It seems that ethics does indeed come into blogging and search engine marketing. This article blurs the lines of them all.

We can stay with the topic of SEO and examine its use in Public Relations. There was a recent debate about where SEO really belongs in a paradigm of PR. Jed Hallam, Wadds, Stephen Davies and others have joined the fray. What are your thoughts?

Joe DeVito posted yet another excerpt from his book on interpersonal messages. This time it’s about non-verbal politeness. I highly recommend checking out his older post as well, and especially the section on social networking.
